Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 7, 2026
Sketch2Space ("we", "us", "our") provides a web-based service that converts architectural floor-plan sketches into 3D models. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
1. Data We Collect
- Account information — email address and optional display name. If you register via Google or Apple, we receive your provider account ID, email, and (where available) name from the provider.
- Authentication tokens — hashed refresh-token identifiers used to keep you logged in.
- User content — the floor-plan sketches you upload (images or PDFs) and the 3D scene data derived from them. These remain tied to your account.
- Usage metadata — project names, creation timestamps, and clarification notes you submit during analysis.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To operate the service: authenticate you, store your projects, and render your 3D scenes.
- To run AI analysis: your uploaded sketches are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic does not retain your data for training.
- To improve our detection models: we may use uploaded sketches and the corrections you make to AI-detected elements to train and fine-tune our own computer-vision models that detect rooms, walls, openings, and furniture. See section 3 below for details.
- To send transactional email (e.g. chat notifications) where you have opted in.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.
3. Use of Uploaded Sketches for Model Training
We train our own computer-vision models so the service can detect floor-plan elements more accurately. To do this we may include your uploaded sketches in our training datasets, alongside any corrections you make to AI-detected items (e.g. moving a misplaced bed) — these corrections are valuable training signal.
- What we use: the sketch image and structured labels we or you have produced for it (bounding boxes, room/wall/furniture annotations).
- Anonymisation: before a sketch enters a training dataset we remove identifying metadata (architect/firm name, client name, project address, drawing-sheet title block) where present. The resulting training samples are not linked to your identity in the trained model.
- Sharing: we do not share training datasets, individual sketches, or any derivative thereof with third parties. Training runs on infrastructure we control.
- Your control: you may opt your sketches out of future training runs at any time by emailing us (see section 11). You may also request deletion of your sketches from existing training datasets — we will exclude them from the next model retrain. Models already trained and deployed cannot be reversed, but they will not be further trained on your data.
Training does not affect how your sketches are stored, displayed, or shared in your account. Your projects remain private to you in the application.
4. Third-Party Services We Use
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes sketch images to extract floor-plan data.
- Google, Apple — when you choose to sign in via one of these providers. We only receive your provider ID, email, and name.
- Fly.io — hosts our application servers.
- Cloudflare R2 / AWS S3 — stores uploaded sketches and export files.
5. Data Retention
Your account, projects, and uploaded files are retained for as long as your account exists. You may delete individual projects at any time from the dashboard. Session tokens are retained for their configured lifetime (up to 7 days) and then automatically purged.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Under the GDPR and CCPA you additionally have the right to data portability and the right to object to processing — including to object to your sketches being used for model training (see section 3).
7. Data Deletion
To delete your Sketch2Space account and all associated data, you have two options:
- Email request — send an email to [email protected] from the address associated with your account. We will delete your account, all projects, uploaded sketches, exports, and linked social-login records within 30 days and confirm by reply.
8. Security
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. Refresh tokens are stored as SHA-256 hashes. Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Uploaded files are stored in access-controlled object storage.
9. Children
Sketch2Space is not intended for users under 16 years of age.
10. Changes to This Policy
We will update this page if we materially change how we handle your data. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
