Edit your 3D model live in the browser
Sketch2Space isn't just a viewer. Once your 3D model is built, you can edit it live in your browser — move walls, resize doors and windows, change heights, and arrange furniture. Every change shows the moment you make it, and saves on its own.
Changes are live#
- Drag and see it move. As you drag a handle, the model updates under your cursor.
- Saves automatically. There's no save button — your change is kept the moment you let go.
- Both views stay in sync. The basic and realistic views always match, because every edit updates the same model underneath.
What you can edit#
- Walls — move, resize, rotate, set the height, or delete.
- Railings — the same controls as walls.
- Doors and windows — slide them along their wall, change their width and height, and delete them. Windows also have a sill height (how high off the floor they sit).
- Furniture — add, move, resize, swap, and delete. See Add and arrange furniture below.
- Rooms — click a room to see its size (area and perimeter). Rooms are shaped by their walls, so to change a room, move its walls.
How to edit an element#
- Open the 3D view of your model.
- Click the wall, door, window, or piece of furniture you want to change. Handles appear around it.
- Drag a handle to move, resize, or rotate it — a preview follows as you go.
- Use the height handle to make a wall (or opening) taller or shorter.
- To remove it, click the delete button.
- Done — your change is saved automatically.
Add and arrange furniture#
- Open the Furniture panel and drag a piece onto the model.
- Pieces snap to walls and to each other, and rest on top of surfaces they're dropped onto.
- Resize a piece by dragging its handles (some pieces only resize on certain sides).
- Swap a piece's style or colour, or delete it.
Set the real-world scale#
If the model comes out the wrong size, you can fix it in a few clicks with Calibrate:
- Click Calibrate.
- Click a wall whose real width you know.
- Choose whether you mean the inner face (the room-side length) or the outer face (including the wall's thickness).
- Type the wall's true width and click Apply.
Doors, windows, and furniture are then drawn at the right proportion to that wall. You can Reset the scale at any time.
Walls and rooms stay lined up with the sketch underneath. Calibrating only changes how big doors, windows, and furniture look next to the wall — it doesn't move your walls.
A few limits#
Rooms can't be edited on their own — they follow their walls, so move the walls to reshape a room. Walls, doors, and windows also have a small minimum size.
When you're done#
When the model looks right, export it to CAD for SketchUp, Blender, and other tools. New here? Start with how to convert a sketch to 3D.
FAQ#
Can I edit the 3D model?#
Yes. You can move, resize, rotate, and delete walls, doors, windows, and furniture right in the browser. Every change shows instantly.
Do my edits save automatically?#
Yes. Each change is saved on its own the moment you make it — there's no save button.
Can I move or remove walls?#
Yes. Click a wall, then drag its handles to move, resize, rotate, or change its height — or delete it. Rooms reshape to follow the walls.
Can I add furniture?#
Yes. Open the Furniture panel and drag pieces onto the model. They snap to walls and to each other, so they're easy to place.
