FAQ#

What is Sketch2Space?#

Sketch2Space is a web app that turns a floor plan sketch — hand-drawn, a marketing brochure, or a CAD drawing — into an accurate, editable 3D model you can export to CAD software.

What files can I upload?#

Images (JPG, PNG) and PDFs, including multi-page architectural PDFs. Hand-drawn, brochure, and CAD-style plans all work.

Can I convert a hand-drawn floor plan to 3D?#

Yes. Hand-drawn sketches are a core use case — upload a clear photo or scan and the AI converts it like any other plan. See how to convert a hand-drawn floor plan to 3D.

How accurate is the 3D model?#

The model is built from the wall lines in your sketch, so its shape follows your plan. Where exact measurements aren't marked, Sketch2Space estimates them from the drawing's proportions and tells you when it has.

Is the 3D model editable?#

Yes. You can review and adjust the model before you export it.

What format can I export?#

A .dae file (the COLLADA format), which opens in SketchUp, Blender, and most CAD and 3D tools. See Export to CAD.

Do I need CAD skills to use it?#

No. You upload a picture of your plan and the AI does the drawing. You only review and export.

Can I convert multi-room layouts?#

Yes. The AI detects multiple rooms and the walls between them and builds them all into one model.

Does it work on my phone?#

Yes — fully. You can upload, edit, walk through, and export from any phone or tablet browser. See Use it on your phone or tablet.
